End of the 2nd Quarter

Learning about the different ways we encounter information and how it is presented to us lead to finding out that we need to learn to read “information” different than we do our fiction stories. Evaluating resources became the next area we discussed looking at the difference between the Internet and databases. After reviewing several references, students began a Trivia challenge. Working in teams, they have specific questions to answer. First, however, they have to decide which resource will give them the best result. Good luck students!

September

The 5th graders will be learning all about information-the different formats and types and what makes reading informational text different from fiction. They are also doing some journal writing on "What I Learned Today."

Today is a great day to visit the Library!
