End of the 2nd Quarter

The 6th graders are very busy and seem to be doing well. Whether it is acknowledging that they need help or putting extra effort into staying organized, they should continue to stay focused and make the most of their study time at school. Packing up early or getting a slow start is nonproductive. The third quarter would be a good time to evaluate study habits and make sure they are not falling behind in any area.

The 6th graders are also working on a project involving the InfOhio databases. Each student was assigned a database to become an expert on and then make a presentation to the class. In this way, they will all learn a little about each of these important resources and how they can use them for their research.

September

Jr. High is a big transition for students. 6th grade Study Skills gives students organizational tools to help them form good study habits and use their time efficiently. The SQ3R study method is being learned and applied to their curriculum subjects.
